Our client is a successful boutique asset manager with a range of active funds across equities, fixed income and alternatives. They have ambitious growth plans and are building out a business in the UK, US and EMEA.
They are hiring an Assistant Finance Manager reporting into the CFO. This is a broad role with a high level of autonomy. It is London based and primarily focused on the UK, Italy, Spain, Germany and Sweden. Key responsibilities include; assist with the coordination and preparation of monthly and annual financial accounts, participate in the accounting consolidation process, control and analyse budget variance, help deliver the annual financial audit process, participate in tax and VAT declaration preparation, coordinate the European accounts payable and expenses management processes and assist with the coordination of monthly payroll with an external payroll agent.
The successful candidate will be; self-motivated, detail orientated, possess proven experience of accounting procedures and accounting principles, CIMA or ACCA qualified (or part qualified), the ability to cover a variety of different accounting functions, experience with consolidation, closing process, audit and budget, proficiency in accounting systems, spreadsheets, databases and business analytics applications, experience in working with external advisors, excellent communication skills with the ability to explain and communicate complex accounting issues to senior level stakeholders, the ability to build relationships with different levels of the organisation and work effectively in an international and entrepreneurial environment. Knowledge of the asset management industry would be useful but not essential.
